Service Arrangements at Heanton, Marwood and West Down July/August 2020

Sunday Services at our three Churches are resuming on 19th July 2020

Risk assessments have been carried out and measures put in place in each church to mitigate the risk of Coronavirus infection.

This notice provides information that you may need to know before attending a service.

  • If you have any symptoms of Covid 19 – please do not come to the service. If you develop symptoms within a week following the service please contact the Rector on 01271 812605 and the NHS Track and Trace service.
  • Toilet facilities will only be available at Heanton.
  • If for medical reasons, you are shielding, you are strongly advised not to attend services at this time.
  • There will be no singing of hymns. Organ or CD music will be played at the start and end of the service and music for reflection may be played during the service.
  • You should not arrange at this time for a lift to the church service other than with a member of your household or bubble.
  • You are required to wear face coverings throughout the service except whilst taking communion bread. Ministers leading services will wear face coverings before and after the service and during the distribution of Holy Communion. They will wear head visors at other times during the service, in order to be clearly heard, but at these times will be further distanced from the congregation.
  • 2 metre social distancing will be maintained throughout the service. Stewards will guide you to an appropriate seat.
  • Your name and contact details will be requested at the start of the service for track and trace purposes.
  • You will be asked to sanitize your hands on entry and exit from the church.
  • If you would like to follow readings, please bring your own Bible.
  • Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before the start of the service and leave promptly through the marked exit point at the end of the service.
  • Refreshments will not be served following the service.

There will be no collection during the service but offerings can be placed in on a plate or basket available as you leave the church. If you would like to give regularly to the work of the Church please contact the relevant treasurer.

House groups are keeping in touch with each other.

If you need to contact someone, the contact details are on the Home page.

We would like to acknowledge and thank those of you who, as part of your commitment to worship, have given financially to the work of our churches. We also recognize that many of you, in spite of the difficulties of the current situation, continue to give through standing orders and the Parish giving scheme.

Over the last few months the income of our churches has, quite understandably, dropped significantly. One of the reasons for this is that we are not currently able to receive gifts physically through offerings made during services. If you have not been able to make a contribution through worship in the usual way and would like to, or if you would simply like information about how you could give to the work of the church please contact the relevant treasurer.

Heanton – Stan Westlake – 01271 816340

Marwood – Sue Nightingale – 01271 812291
